Burlington
The Coffey County Republican reported that a committee researching countywide trash service in Coffey County has determined that it is not feasible to pursue the idea. Coffey County Engineer Wayne Blackbourn said startup capital costs would be too steep to take the trash service countywide.
Eureka
The Eureka Herald reported that there is a new pastor for New Life Assembly of God in Eureka. Ray Frye became the new pastor of the church. His wife Janet Frye also is a licensed minister of Assembly of God.
New Strawn
The Coffey County Republican reported that the New Strawn City Council approved an ordinance that will allow work-site utility vehicles and micro utility vehicles to be driven legally on city streets when it met recently. An earlier version of the ordinance included a provision that would allow all-terrain vehicles and low-speed vehicles to be legally driven by licensed drivers on city streets.
