Sunday night on CBS, "The Hallmark Hall of Fame" will present "The Courageous Heart of Irena Sendler," the true story of a Polish social worker who save the lives of thousands of Jewish children during the Holocaust.
Sendler's story was brought to world prominence 10 years ago by a group of high school students at Uniontown High School who wrote and performed a play, "Life in a Jar," based on Sendler's heroic actions.
The teacher who set the students on the road to the story was Norm Conard, who was inducted into the National Teachers Hall of Fame in 2007 in Emporia.
