Girl Scout Junior Mall Madness
The Girl Scout Junior Mall Madness event will be held from 8 p.m. April 25 until 7 a.m. April 26 at the Flinthills Mall. Reservations are due today. The cost is $10 for each registered Girl Scout and $20 for non-Girl Scouts. There will be dancing, movies, games, snacks and other activities.

Mound Ridge Community Supper
The spring Mound Ridge Community Supper will be served at 6:30 p.m. April 24 at the school house. Those planning to attend are to bring a covered dish and table service; beverages will be provided. Dale Putman will talk about and show slides of his time in Afghanistan.
Dave Ramsey Town Hall broadcast
Dave Ramsey, nationally syndicated radio talk show host and New York Times best selling author will hold a nationwide town hall meeting about the economy entitled “Town Hall for Hope,” to be broadcast at 7 p.m. April 23 (Thursday) at the Twelfth Avenue Baptist Church, 2023 W. 12th Ave. For more information or to register attendance, call Phil Brown at 342-8300 or e-mail pbrown@12thavenue.org. Ramsey will “cover the economy, your money and the answers to many people’s questions. In addition, he will separate the truths from the myths about our stock market and economy and explain how we, as a nation, will recover from this economic situation stronger than before,” stated the news release. Throughout the meeting, he will take questions live by telephone, e-mail, Twitter, Facebook and more.
RCIL Friends
The RCIL Friends, a group of individuals who experience disability, will meet at 2 p.m. April 27 at the Emporia Public Library. The speaker will be Liliana Heredia-Taylor, director of services at Lyon County Red Cross, who will discuss disaster preparedness. There also will be a drawing for a Walmart gift card. For each guest brought, one ticket for the drawing will be earned. Reservations are needed by April 20 and can be made by calling 342-1648 or toll free at (888)261-4024.
