Train for Tebbetts

Train for Tebbetts

The miniature train in Soden’s Grove will run on Sunday to benefit the Dan Tebbetts Medical Fund.

According to an announcement from Billy Christian of the Sertoma Club, club members will run the train from 1 to 6 p.m. Donations only will be accepted for rides, and all money collected will be turned over to the Tebbetts fund.

Friends of Tebbetts will be on hand to sell tickets for drawings for a 1967 Camaro and a 1962 Geo Metro convertible. Both vehicles are expected to be on display.

Baked potatoes

The First Friends Church is having a Baked Potato Bar from 5 to 7:30 p.m. today at the church, Sixth Ave., and Sylvan St. Toppings include chili, cheese, bacon, onion, broccoli, sour cream, butter. Tea and cookies also will be served. The suggested donation is $5. This is a Mission Trip fundraiser.

Breakfast in Allen

The Allen preschool sponsors a breakfast from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. the third Saturday of each month. This Saturday will be another “all you can eat” breakfast of freshly-made fried eggs and pancakes, scrambled eggs, hash browns, sausage, breakfast burritos, biscuits and gravy, bacon, fresh cinnamon rolls, coffee, milk and juice. The cost is $5 each person. The school is “just south of Route 56 on a side street to the east,” stated the news release.

Rummage sale, baked goods

A Rummage and Bake Sale will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at the First Christian Church, 202 E. 12th Ave.

Dinner in Olpe

The Olpe United Methodist Church will serve dinner from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the church. The menu features baked ham, various kinds of chicken, salads, vegetables, desserts, bread and beverages. The cost is a free-will offering for the church building fund. The building is handicapped accessible.

Rummage sale in Americus

The Americus PTO is now accepting donated items for the first annual PTO Rummage Sale to be held from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in the Americus school gymnasium. All proceeds will go to the PTO to support Americus students and teachers.
