finishes sixth
Emporia High’s tennis team finished in sixth place out of eight teams at the Mustang Classic on Tuesday in Salina.
The Spartans finished with 26 team points. In singles, Chris Reimer finished in fifth place for EHS, and Saul Trujillo finished in 14th, losing in the 13th-place match.
In doubles, the team of Jonathan Roman and Zach Windsor finished in seventh place, and the team of Todd Koelsch and Brandon Loewen finished in 15th.
Former Emporian to run in Boston
Scott Maley, a 2002 graduate of Emporia High, will run in the Boston Marathon on Monday.
Maley has been training for the event for the last year and a half. It will be the ninth marathon for the University of Kansas medical school student.
Dorseys headed
to Baker
Emporia High seniors Brian and Ryan Dorsey will both sign on to continue their athletic careers at Baker University at a signing scheduled for April 29.
Brian, who kicked on the EHS football team as a senior, will sign to play football. Ryan will sign to play soccer. Their signing will be held in the EHS library.
