VICTORIA PAYTON and Savana Sickler who were named Terrific Kids by Hi-Noon Kiwanis.
• Emporia High Student Juan Rosales who qualified for the national FBLA conference in Anaheim, Calif. Juan placed third in the Business Procedures competition at the Kansas FBLA conference, which qualified him for the national competition.
• Robin Beatty who was honored as Woman of the Year for the Emporia chapter of the American Business Women Association.
• ESB Financial, which earned a 5-Star Superior rating from Bauer Financial a bank a credit union rating firm. ESB has held a 5-Star rating for 68 consecutive quarters.
• Raelyn Pearson who broke the Emporia High school shot put record with a throw of 38-6.75. The previous record was set by Berta Woodruff in 1976 with a throw of 37-6.
• Taylor Euler who earned an invitation to play in the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association’s Class 5A All-Star game.
• ESU students who approved a student fee increase to make improvements to the Memorial Union. Of the 920 votes cast 739 voted in favor and 181 voted against.
