There are some fields on the outskirts of town that are a bright purple color. I don’t know what these purple blooms are, but I wonder if this is some horticulture project by K-State administrators to paint our countryside purple to help remind people of the university in Manhattan.
I find this of particular interest because the plants bloom in the spring just as students are deciding what university they are going to attend.
As a KU graduate, I think KU scientists really need to develop a red-and-blue weed killer to smother and eradicate this noxious purple power weed.

It' henbit which is a naturally occuring winter weed which is a member of the mint family.
KU doesn't need to develop anything, there are already numerous chemicals that will kill it.

It just shows that God prefers K State over KU.

2,4-d??? I personally like the purple and they think they don't taste to bad either, in small amounts. I do know they get in the way though.
