Celebrate administrative professional day

Students in the Flint Hills Technical College Business Administrative Technology program are once again teaming up with International Association of Administrative Professionals Heartland Chapter to celebrate Administrative Professional Day on April 21.

The “Are YOU the Employee Companies Fight to Keep?” workshop and luncheon will be offered April 21 from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the FHTC Conference Center. The $29 registration fee includes the speaker, drawings and lunch prepared by the FHTC Hospitality/Culinary Arts students.

The presentation will lay out several keys to staying successfully employed. They include:

• Take chare of your personal life

• Demonstrate value added

• Have a positive impact on your company, customers and colleagues

• Embrace and initiate change

• Work harder, smarter, faster and better

• Communicate openly and directly

• Look for leadership opportunities

• Commit to lifelong learning

The workshop is designed for professional staff and is an opportunity for supervisors to give their staff the gift of an educational and informative presentation. Tiffany Hentschel, SPHR, the presenter for the day, is the Employee Relations Manager for Johnson County Government. She has worked in Human Resources for 19 years, spending the last 15 years in the public sector. Hentschel earned a master’s degree in human resources development and a bachelor’s degree in human resources management from Webster University. She has a passion for helping organizations provide development opportunities for staff and conducts training on a variety of human resources topics.

The International Association of Administrative Professionals offer top-notch resources to help administrative professionals enhance their skills and become more effective contributors to their employees.
