Ayers benefit
A large rummage and bake sale with homemade rolls, bread, cakes and cupcakes will be held from noon to 8 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Burlington Fire Department.
Proceeds will be given to a medical fund for Bonnie Ayers of Burlington, who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1998.
Until September 2008, Ayers has been active and working as a paraprofessional at Burlington Elementary School. In September, she lost all feeling and use of her right side from head to toe. She and her husband recently learned about the Rocky Mountain MS Research Center, which works to find help for individual patients. Friends of the family are holding fundraisers and also have set up an account at Citizens State Bank in Burlington-New Strawn to help with the costs of the trip to the research center.
