Tickets available

Tickets remain for Saturday’s Confession’s Tour concert at W.L. White Auditorium. The event features Grammy-nominated Pillar with Fireflight and Me In Motion. The stop on the tour is sponsored by High Gear Cyclery and Fitness. Tickets, which cost $14 in advance ($13 for groups of 10 or more) or $16 at the door, are available at High Gear, 504 Commercial St.; Flint Hills Music, 715 Commercial St.; and online at www.itickets.com.

The concert begins at 7 p.m.; doors open at 6:20 on Saturday. The concert is for all ages. It will include drawings for items donated by sponsors, including a Gary Fisher mountain bike, skateboard, Oakley sunglasses and Ibanez guitar.

Wanted: Formal dresses

School dances again have created a busy season for The Prom Closet, a store that gives away gently used prom and other formal dresses to people who cannot afford to buy new ones.

The store has given away more than 150 dresses in recent months for high school and college formal dances, as well as weddings, military events and other formal occasions, according to store manager Angie Clopton.

“The need is much greater than I had anticipated,” Clopton said.

Stock is growing low, and Clopton asked that people who have dresses, shoes and accessories to donate to call her at 757-5405. Appointments are needed to drop off donations or to look at merchandise.

“We need all sizes,” she said. “Seven through 12 as soon as possible. Also larger sizes, too, because we’re running low again.”
