Emporia High finished in fourth place out of eight teams at a home invitational on Saturday.
Chris Reimer and Jonathan Roman, Emporia’s top returners, competed for the first time this season. Reimer finished in third place in No. 1 singles after going 3-1, beating Blue Valley North’s David Galvin 8-6 in the third-place match. In No. 2 singles, Roman took fifth place, going 2-2 on the day. He beat Andover High’s Garrett Maness by an 8-1 score in the fifth-place match.
