A curriculum report on a $500,000 Foreign Language Assistance Program grant from the Department of Education is on the agenda for the Emporia board of education when it meets at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Mary Herbert Education Center.
The board also will have first readings of student handbooks for the coming school year for Emporia Middle School and Emporia High School.
Notice of nonrenewals for certified staff also is on the agenda. The board routinely sends out nonrenewals to teachers to were hired after the standard hiring date had passed, although other teachers too may be affected. Often, the late-hire teachers are re-hired.
