A fund has been set up to benefit an Allen family in the wake of a serious medical illness.
Bob Lowder, who owns Main Street Pub in Allen with his wife, Charolette, had emergency heart surgery on March 26. He has been in the hospital since March 24. Meanwhile the pub is temporarily shut down because Charolette is at the hospital with her husband.
Friends and community members have been working to help the family.
A fund has been set up at ESB Financial. Donations can be sent to the Bob Lowder Benefit Fund, ESB Financial, Attn: Brenda, P.O. Box 807, Emporia, KS 66801. The donations are not classified as charitable contributions.
There also will be a benefit dinner from 5 to 8 p.m. April 19 at the North Lyon County Community Center in Allen. The menu will include spaghetti, salad, garlic bread, a beverage and dessert.
For more information on the dinner, contact Janet Bathurst at (620) 528-3223 or (620) 528-3204 in the evenings.
