U.S. Congressman Jerry Moran remains very much in the Republican race to fill Sen. Sam Brownback's seat, despite rumors that circulated this morning on Internet political sites and through e-mails.
"The congressman is firmly committed to the race for Senate, and any reports or rumors to the contrary are absolutely untrue," said Travis Murphy, Moran's campaign spokesman.
"It is an April Fool's joke."
Moran is expected to face Congressman Todd Tiahrt in the primary election in 2010.

I bet the staffers for the small army of Republican candidates to replace Rep. Moran in Congress had a bit of a start this morning while they were reading their press clips!
