Emporian dies at KC construction site

An Emporia man died early Tuesday evening in an accident at the Iatan 2 construction site in Weston, Mo., north of Kansas City.

Vatthana Vongtheva, 28, of Emporia reportedly was working inside a boiler at the construction side when the accident occurred about 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.

OSHA is investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident, which was the second at the site in less than one year.
