The St. Joseph Fall Festival on Sunday to benefit St. Joseph School in Olpe will be packed with good food and activities, including a raffle that includes a handmade quilt and a pony as prizes.
The festival will be at St. Joseph School, 307 Iowa St., in Olpe and will start with a meal at 3 p.m. The dinner will include ham, roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, dressing, sweet potatoes, sauerkraut, many Jell-O salads, pickles, beets, rolls and various desserts from pies to cakes and cookies. The price of the meal is $8 for adults; $3 for 6-10-year-olds; $1 for children under 6. The meal is all you can eat.
Games also start at 6 p.m. and include a basketball toss, gone fishing game, lollipop garden, golf, dart board and a True Value inflatable. Prize tickets are given for kids games and can be redeemed at the prize table, which will include items that cost from five tickets up to 50 tickets. Prizes include toys, stuffed animals, movies, basketballs and footballs and various other items.
Bingo will start at 6:45 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 212 Iowa St., in Olpe. The cost for Bingo is $1 a card.
A raffle drawing also will take place Sunday. First prize is a handmade quilt by The Quilting Corner Ladies from the St. Joseph Parish and second prize is a Welsh pony.
“This is the first pony we’ve given away,” said Machelle Nuessen, third and fourth grade teacher at St. Joseph School. “Several of the kids are so excited because they want that pony.”
The students at St. Joseph are selling raffle tickets. Tickets also will be available at the school on Sunday.
