Lyon County Commission

The Lyon County Commission will meet for a study session at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Lyon County Commission chambers of the Lyon County Courthouse, 430 Commercial St. Items on the agenda include discussion of a Homeland Security grant; discussion of a no parking resolution on Road 310 from Kansas Highway 99 east for one half mile in front of Charlie Loomis’ new sale barn near Admire; discuss the estimate from Mater’s Mechanic Inc. to overhaul the engine on a grader for a total cost of $14,460; and employee recognition in Community Corrections department.

Emporia City Commission

The Emporia City Commission will meet at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday for its regular action meeting at the city commission room, 518 Mechanic St. Items on the agenda include a public hearing on vacating the easement in the Eaglecrest 4th subdivision; consideration of a resolution to establish the city’s priorities for the KDOT 10-year comprehensive transportation plan; consider an ordinance to grant a conditional use permit for a residential living unit on the ground floor at 726 Commercial St.; and consider ordinances to increase solid waste and water rates.
