Lapping earns scholarship
On Sept. 2, retired Air Force Brig. Gen. Randy Cubero, president of the U.S. Air Force Academy’s Falcon Foundation, presented Levi Blu Lapping of Emporia with a Falcon Foundation Scholarship to Marion Military Institute (MMI) in Marion, Ala. Lapping will attend MMI for one year as part of the junior college’s service academy prep program. As a Falcon Foundation Scholar at MMI, Lapping has a 99.9 percent chance of gaining acceptance into the Air Force Academy class of 2013.
Lapping’s Falcon Foundation scholarship is sponsored by the Lockheed Martin Corporation in honor of Glenn L. Martin, a pioneer for national aviation before World War I.
