Chiroy leads Emporia High at Rim Rock Farm

Monday, September 29, 2008

The Emporia High girls finished 23rd and the boys 27th in the top Gold division at the Rim Rock Farm Classic in Lawrence on Saturday.

“The Rim Rock Classic is always one of the toughest meets we compete at with many of the best teams from the Midwest coming in to run,” Mark Stanbrough said. “We ran without some of our top people who were out with injuries or sick.”

Jefferson City from Missouri won the girls title with a score of 106. Emporia finished with a team score of 573.

Abigail Chiroy finished 71st for the EHS girls, followed by Abbey Davies in 73rd.

St. Louis University, also from Missouri, won the boys race, finishing with a score of 106. The EHS boys had 599 points.

Octavio Dikin, 83rd, and Tyler Tilton, 94th, were the only EHS boys to finish in the top 100.
