10 minutes left in the fourth quarter

Zach Rampy replaced Andre Sloan El and brought new life to a stagnant offense. Rampy set up a 19-yard Matt Perry field goal and the Lions lead 19-18.

Rampy set up the field goal with a 29-yard pass to Sean Partridge on a play that appeared he was going to run and then decided to hit a streaking Partridge.

Perry's fourth field goal tied a school record.

25 seconds left in third quarter

Missouri Southern's Terrance Scott returned a Seville Ko fumble 43 yards to set up Toderick Hunt's third touchdown run and give the Lions a 19-15 lead.

ESU quarterback Andre Sloan El re-injured his ankle and Zach Rampy has come into the game at quarterback. Sloan El's appears to be out for the game, as he is getting his ankle iced on the sideline.

8:32 left in third quarter

Missouri Southern opened the second half with a 12-play, 62-yard touchdown drive. Toderick Hunt scored his second TD of the game. The Lions went for the 2-point conversion and the tie, but failed.

The Hornets lead 15-13.

Halftime

Matt Perry made 3-of-4 field goals and Sean Partridge ran for a 69-yard touchdown on a reverse to give the Hornets a 15-7 lead at half.

Seville Ko ran for a season-high 95 yards in the first half with starting tailback Adrian Abner not in uniform because of an ankle injury.

Andre Sloan El struggled in the first half, throwing his first interception of the season and completing only 6-of-14 passes. Sloan El's biggest play of the half was a 9-yard pass to Partridge on the Hornets' first possesion on fourth and six to extend the drive, which ended in a 36-yard field goal for Perry.

MSSU moved the ball easily on the ground its first drive, but stalled in the red zone when the Lions went away from the running game. The Hornets moved the ball back down the field to set up Perry's second field goal.

Perry kicked another field goal after Brian Tarkington fell on a fumble.

The Lions made it 9-7 on a Toderick Hunt 18-yard touchdown run. Partridge scored his touchdown on the Hornets next play from scrimmage. Perry missed the extra point.

ESU has 222 rushing yards at halftime.
