TO MY FRIENDS:
If you plan to break a hip in the near future, I have good news for you. Do it right here in Emporia. You’ll be in good hands.
From the 3 a.m. 911 call that brought two very capable EMTs to my apartment, through the excellent surgery by Dr. Rattay and the tender loving care provided by an excellent hospital staff and Dr. Barnett; the menus I had to keep marking small serving or I would never have been able to waddle home, and finally my entry into Rehab, I have unlimited praise and gratitude.
Betty and the rest of the Housekeeping crew set the bar far too high. I’ll never be able to keep my apartment nearly as spotless as you kept my room.
Now about that entry into Rehab. Did you know you have one of the finest rehab units in the state? Not that I have tried that many, but it is difficult to better near-perfection. From Nurse Ratchett and Attilla the Hun, who threatened and cajoled me with the very best treatment, I was able to return home stronger and wiser in two short weeks. You all know who you are and I will be forever indebted to you.
