Emporia State led early but fell for the second time this season to Southwest Baptist on Thursday, losing 4-2 in Bolivar, Mo.
The Hornets took the lead in the 14th minute when Tina Commons scored her first goal of the season. The Hornets did not score their second goal until the 67th minute when Marcie Fundis also scored her first goal of the season on a penalty kick.
Alison Germany got her second assist of the season to take the team lead in assists. Jennifer Stillmock had 12 saves in her second game back in goal after an injury in the first SW Baptist game forced her to miss two games.
Emporia State dropped to 1-3 in the MIAA and 3-5 overall. The Hornets play Saturday at Central Missouri.
