Dinner and auction
The Virgil United Methodist Church’s annual fundraiser begins at 5:30 p.m. Saturday with a meal of chicken and noodles or ham loaf. A benefit auction begins at 6:30 p.m. Items for sale include gun cabinets, antiques, collectibles and baked goods. The event will be in the church’s fellowship hall.
Soup for supper
The North Lyon County Senior Center in Allen will serve a soup supper from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Monday. The menu includes vegetable soup, chili, sandwiches, homemade pie and a drink for a free will offering. In addition, a homemade quilt will be given away. Tickets cost $1 each or six for $5. All proceeds from the night will benefit the senior center.
