As part of its sponsorship of the Youth Game Day on Saturday, U.S. Cellular is partnering with Emporia State University to host a free family-friendly outdoor movie on Friday.
The event, to be held at the north campus soccer field, is free and open to the public. Visitors can enjoy the movie on a large outdoor screen. There will also be family-friendly tailgating games and dance demonstrations by the ESU Stingers dance team.
Visitors are encouraged to bring lawn chairs to the movie; U.S. Cellular will provide free popcorn and beverages.
Movie information can be accessed at the movie hotline, (620) 366-3665. U.S. Cellular will also offer tickets to the Sept. 27 Youth Game Day free of charge, while supplies last.
“This event gives students and families the opportunity to share quality time with one another and with the community,” said Roberta Winger, director of sales for U.S. Cellular in Emporia. “U.S. Cellular is happy to support Emporia State University athletics.”

I just called the hotline and it said the movie is Horton hears a Who (I'm sure I spelled that title wrong..) The movie starts at dusk and family events start around 7. Movie viewing will also be dependent on weather/wind speed. May be a good idea to ck the hotline number to make sure they will be showing the movie before heading out! Sounds fun!
