EMS loses one, splits two

The Emporia Middle School eighth-grade A volleyball team lost one game and split two at a tournament at Lawrence Central Middle School on Saturday. The Vikings finished four points away from moving on to bracket play.

Southwest Junior High defeated EMS in the Vikings’ opening match before EMS split with West Junior High School and Patton Middle School. Point spreads were calculated after the matches to determine which teams would continue in bracket play.
