The Emporia Chess Society meets from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the Granada Coffee Company. All ages and skill levels are welcome, including children. There is no charge.

The Reading Lions Club meets at 7 p.m. at the Reading Community Building.

Tuesday

P.E.O. Chapter HY meets at 9:30 a.m. with Barbara Hunter, assisted by Sally Hannah. Diane Gladow will present the program, “Climbing the Family Tree.” Dorothy Rolf will give the P.E.O. Scholar’s Report.

The Rotary Club meets at noon at the Emporia Country Club, 18th Avenue and Rural Street.

Lyon County Chapter 36 Disabled American Veterans meets at 7:30 p.m. at the Army Reserve Center, 1412 E. Sixth Ave. The Auxiliary meets at 7:30 p.m. the fourth Wednesday of each month at the same location at 7:30 p.m.

The Flint Hills Optimist Club meets at noon at the ESU Memorial Union.

The Hi-Noon Kiwanis Club meets at noon at the Emporia Country Club, 18th Avenue and Rural Street.

The Sertoma Club meets at noon at the American Legion, 2921 W. 12th Ave. Betty Richardson will present the program.
