The next meeting for the Americus Days committee will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, at Lacie Hamlin’s house.
The order of business will be to organize items and to double-check various activities. Everyone is welcome to assist in this process whether or not they are a member of the committee.
The committee T-shirts have arrived and they are an eye-catching blue. The shirts will be a definite asset to the general public who might have questions concerning activities or need assistance during the Americus Days activities.
Farmers market
The Americus Farmers Market, which ran the gamut from cinnamon rolls to a Flint Hills landscape painting, was considered a success as it shut down on Sept. 19. The market will re-open in the spring of 2009.
