DENTISTS Blair Edgington and Michelle Perez, who have joined the expanded dental clinic at the Flint Hills Community Health Center. Also, Dr. Paul McDonald, who started as an internal medicine doctor at the Flint Hills Community Health Center.
• Michael Soyez, who opened the Winding Road Thrift Store at 324 Commercial in downtown in Emporia. The store is donating a portion of its proceeds to Winding Road Horse Equine and Rescue and Retirement.
• Pianist Elaine Edwards, who was inducted into the Frank A. Beach Hall of Distinction. Violinist James Starr was honored with the inception of the James Starr Music Scholarship.
• Brent Windsor, who was selected to fill the vacant seat on the Emporia School board.
• Martha Rueda, who was named the 2008 Hispanics of Today and Tomorrow. Martha is a junior at Emporia High School.
• Josh Klumpe and Katie Moyer, who were named 2008 Homecoming Royalty for Olpe High School.
