The folks of Sacred Heart parish were busy pinning 8,500 tacos Wednesday afternoon. The tacos were made with 75 pounds of ground beef. The volunteers also made 75 gallons of salsa. They were preparing for Friday’s Mexican Supper, and they were expecting the usual big crowd.
The supper, which supports Sacred Heart School, is an annual event. Many Emporians show up at the parish hall for the meal or to pick up carry-out meals.
The supper will be served from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the parish hall, next to the church at 101 Cottonwood St. Tickets are $7 at the door, $6 if purchased in advance.
