The Emporia Arts Council membership drive is still in progress. The council reports that 194 memberships have been purchased so far, with a goal of 300 for 2008-2009.
The membership dues draw performances to Emporia and the Flint Hills and help fund art classes and gallery exhibits.
Contributing levels for memberships start at $20 for one set of youth tickets to each event; Gershwin, at $100 to $199 (one set of tickets to each event); Stravinsky, at $200 to $399 (two sets of tickets); Ravel, at $400 to $999 (four sets); Schumann, at $1,000 to $2,499 (eight sets); Bach, at $2,500 to $4,999 (ten sets); Beethoven, at $5,000 to $9,999 (12 sets); and Mozart, at $10,000 and up (15 sets).
Tickets to the fundraiser performance of “Nunsense,” on Sunday, Jan. 18 at 3 p.m., are on sale to members at a discounted price of $20. Tickets are $30 for non-members.
