Free Constitutions
Wednesday is Constitution Day, and in observance of the day, Susan G. Fowler, librarian of the Lyon County Law Library, will hand out pocket-size editions of the nation’s most important legal document at 10 a.m. in front of the Lyon County Courthouse at Fourth Avenue and Commercial Street.
In a news release, Fowler said she has 50 copies and will hand them out until all are gone.
Fowler noted that federal law requires the head of each federal agency or department and all federally funded schools to offer each employee and student training in the Constitution on Constitution Day.
The U.S. Constitution was signed Sept. 17, 1787, at the Constitutional Convention.
