Best there is

IN “SMALL TOWN” life, you can buy into the mentality that you must go to a bigger city to get The best; the assumption being that home choices consist of a lesser quality product or service. Such is not always the case. The Central Care Cancer Center here in Emporia is proof.
My mother-in-law required radiation treatments — a grueling schedule of six weeks of daily treatments. Her family doctor, Dr. Kendall Wright, knew that her neurologist would recommend traveling to his Topeka facility for treatment. Dr. Wright also knew how important it would be to Mom to be able to stay at home instead. Dr. Wright intervened on her behalf and made the necessary calls. So, rather than having to travel to the Topeka facility, Mom has been receiving her care here in Emporia. The quality of this care has been second to none.
Dr. Jorge Wong, her radiation oncologist, has been caring and thorough. Justin Branine, the manager of the facility and radiation therapist, has shown humor and compassion while doing a top-notch job. Shannon Clock, nurse, has been patient and solicitous. These people are to be commended. They have shown Mom great kindness and respect. They have answered all of our family’s questions with candor and patience, helping us to understand the treatments and the healing process. Because the treatments have been done locally, we have been able to help Mom more than would have been possible otherwise, and to view her progress daily.
Mom is doing well. The treatments are nearly over, and the side effects can be borne. Thanks to the efforts of all involved, the quality of life to which Mom aspires is again possible.
I thank everyone who has participated in my mother-in-law’s care. We are grateful to have had the opportunity to avail ourselves of your services. God Bless.

I have only heard good things about Central Care and the staff at the facility. Not being a part of NRH seperates it from all the politics. I hope the Dr's and the community support the facility so others won't need to go out of town for cancer care,
