Fire victim named
Because authorities cannot locate next of kin for the man killed in a fire on Saturday morning at 1235 Exchange St., the fire department has released his name in hopes that somebody will come forward with information on the man.
Louis Patrick Tucker, a 58-year-old black man was killed in the fire.
“After following a number of leads and investigating through a variety of agencies in several states, investigators with the Emporia Fire Department and the police department have been unable to locate the relatives of the individual who lost his life in the fire...” a press release from the Emporia Fire Department stated.
Anyone with contact information for relatives of Tucker is asked to call the Emporia Fire Department of the Emporia Police Department at 343-4230.
The origin and cause of the fire remain under investigation.
