David M. Hanks of Reading has been awarded the Glen Hatch Memorial Scholarship presented by the Lyon County Conservation District and the Hatch family. This scholarship was awarded to a student in the North Lyon County school district who will be going to college to study agriculture or a science related field during the 2009-09 academic school year.

He graduated from NHHS in May and will attend Kansas State University in Manhattan to study for a degree in veterinary medicine. He is the son of Michael and Donna Hanks of Reading.

David is an outstanding young man. This is an appropriate investment in the future of our community. He has a great family and he'll have great support all the way through his college career.
