Picnic at Holiday Resort

The 5th Annual Holiday Resort Family Picnic will be 5:30 p.m. Thursday. The event will celebrate Holiday Resort’s 20th anniversary and give residents a chance to visit with loved ones, friends or neighbors. The picnic, which will be held rain or shine, will include a bouncy house for children

Republican Women picnic

Lyon County Republican Women will have their annual Republican picnic at 5:30 p.m. Sunday at Kuhn’s Little Red School House/Bicycle Museum at 1929 Road 175.

Lyon County Central Committee is furnishing the meat. Iced tea and water will also be furnished. Everyone is asked to bring a covered dish, their table service and lawn chairs. The program will be given by Republican candidates. Anyone wanting to hear from the candidates is welcome to attend.

Each person is also asked to bring a nonperishable food item for the Kansas Federation of Republican Women Caring for America Project. The food items will be given to the Salvation Army.

Grandview reunion

The 15th annual Grandview Community Reunion will be from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Saffordville Community Building (the former Toledo Township High School building). Lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m.; those attending are to bring a covered dish and table service. Beverages will be provided. Those who have photographs or memorabilia are invited to bring them to share with others. Handicapped accessibility is at the south door.
