Weiser to chat
Kent Weiser, director of athletics at Emporia State University, will be the guest for a Gazette online chat at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday.
Questions for Weiser may be submitted in advance or during the half-hour chat at The Gazette Web site, www.emporiagazette.com. Free registration is required to submit questions.
One topic of the chat may be the recent Gazette article on ESU’s low spending on sports compared to other schools in its league.
Free classes at library
The Emporia Public Library will offer free computer classes on a variety of topics. Classes in September include: basic e-mail at 6 p.m. Tuesday; audiobooks online at 6 p.m. Sept. 17; and basic Internet searching at 2 p.m. Sept. 22. A special class, Children & Internet Safety: What Parents Need to Know, will be offered at 6 p.m. Sept. 24 at 6 p.m. and repeated at 6 p.m. Sept. 25. Classes are limited to 14 people. Registration is required by calling the library at 340-6462. All classes will be held in library meeting rooms.
