JEAN MILLER and Laura Schlobohm, who were first-place winners in the Lyon County Senior Spelling Bee. Miller and Schlobohm will represent Lyon County at the state event.

• The League of Women Voters of Emporia, which is offering voter-registration sessions away from the Lyon County Courthouse. The first will be downtown at Saturday’s Great American Market.
