Lyon County property won’t see a delay in their tax bills this year despite an earlier announcement this morning.
Hartenbower said there was a $2 million property tax exemption in Lyon County, which translates into $500,000 in assessed value that hadn’t gone through yet. Hartenbower said if tax levies were set and tax bills were sent out before the exemption went through it would create a shortfall if the exemption goes through the state.
“The $2 million is already exempted,” Hartenbower said. “Gary Post brought it down today. So tax statements should be on time.”
