End of the Trail Steakhouse, off Interstate Highway 35 in Lebo, is for sale. Tim and Bev Masters have owned the business since December 2007 and are selling because of Tim Masters’ health.

LEBO — Just off the Lebo exit on Interstate Highway 35 sit Petticoat Junction and End of the Trail Steakhouse, both being sold because of one of the owners’ serious health condition.

The businesses are owned by Bev and Tim Masters, who reside at Pomona Lake. The Masterses also own a Cinex Station at Pomona Lake that they lease out to the employees. Bev Masters said the couple purchased the building that houses End of the Trail Steakhouse in December. They have owned Petticoat Junction for about a year. End of the Trail used to be a breakfast and lunch diner, Masters said, and they decided to transform it into a steakhouse. The steakhouse also serves breakfast on weekends.

“And we have great steaks,” Masters said as she was preparing the steakhouse for opening Tuesday morning. “We can’t even get our steaks until they age three weeks.”

The couple decided to sell the two businesses in Lebo when Tim Masters was diagnosed with a serious heart condition in June. To lower his stress, the couple decided to sell the businesses. Petticoat Junction had an interested buyer right away, so it wasn’t put on the market. End of the Trail Steakhouse is on the market through Ek Real Estate. Bev Masters said she will return to her career as a paralegal after the businesses in Lebo sell.

The seating capacity of End of the Trail is 62 people, Bev Masters said. Right now, the restaurant serves fish, chicken, steaks and 15 different kinds of sandwiches, as well as breakfast on the weekends. The restaurant is newly remodeled with new insulation and ceiling fans, and is decorated in a warm cowboy theme. The cash register, which is bordered with cedar, was moved to the front of the restaurant. The restaurant also has full bar service.
