Emporia State won in a sweep at home for the second straight night on Saturday, beating Northwest Missouri 25-12, 25-15, 25-14 at White Auditorium.
The ninth-ranked Hornets were led by Arica Shepard’s 15th double-double of the season. Shepard had 21 digs and a match-high 14 kills on a .429 hitting percentage.
Brianne Boner had eight of the Hornets’ 12 blocks and Ting Liu had 40 assists. Shepard was joined in double-figure kills by Megan Koster, who finished with 11 kills, and Brittney Miller added 10.
Emporia State improved to 25-2 and 11-1 in the MIAA. The Hornets travel to No. 13 Central Missouri on Wednesday.
