EHS volleyball loses in substate

Emporia High's volleyball team ended its season with a 25-21, 27-25 loss to Kapaun Mt. Carmel in the first round of substate action Saturday at EHS.

The Spartans got off to quick starts in both matches before Kapaun staged a comeback in each, moving on to the substate final against top-seeded Valley Center. Ashley Leihsing had nine kills for the Spartans.
