Sportscast a winner
KFFX-FM has earned state recognition from Kansas radio and television broadcasters.
The Emporia radio station received the second-place award for sports play-by-play in the Kansas Association of Broadcasters’ medium-market division.
The winning entry was KFFX-FM’s coverage of a men’s basketball game between Emporia State University and Southwest Baptist; the sportscasters honored are Greg Rahe and Steve Sauder.
Educator honored
Emporia State University graduate Cheryl Janzen Stanley, who teaches business at Jackson Heights schools, is the Rookie Secondary Business Educator, named to the honor at the annual Kansas Business Education Association’s convention on Oct. 17 in Wichita.
Stanley, the daughter of Larry and Marcia Janzen of Emporia, earned a bachelor’s degree in business education from Emporia State in 2003. Now a graduate student, she expects to receive a master’s degree, also in business education, from ESU in May.
