Everybody vote!

Friday, October 24, 2008

EVERYONE’S vote will count this election. EVERYONE, whether you’re black, white, Hispanic, disabled — no matter what your disability is. Look how close the last Presidential Election was — 930 votes out of 6 million cast! My disability is that I am Bipolar. But I am in treatment and I am stable. I plan to vote this election. Everybody’s vote is important and contributes to making our system work.

Advance voting has already started in Kansas. In Lyon County, you can vote at the Lyon County Courthouse. On Nov. 4, the polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., all over Kansas. Make your vote count.

Actually, that was in 2000, and just in Florida, the last election was about 3 million votes difference, but that doesn't change the message - EVERYONE get out and VOTE!!!!! (As long as you are legal :)

Yes, everybody vote! My friend in California just e-mailed me that she doesn't like all the campaign rhetoric so refuses to vote. What a waste, and I told her so. Now she has no room to complain.

I look forward to voting, no matter how long the lines. Before Hawaii became a state, we could only vote for local boards of supervisors. We could not vote for president or even our own governor. Our governor was appointed by whoever got in for president, and our one representative in Washington was appointed by the governor. I remember my parents being so happy when they finally got to vote in national elections. Voting is an important privilege.
