Homecoming musical

Performances of “Something’s Afoot,” the 2008 ESU Homecoming Musical, continue through Sunday.

The musical will be performed at 7:30 p.m. tonight and Saturday. A matinee will be offered at 2 p.m. Sunday.

Tickets cost $8 and $15 and are avialable from the university box office. Call 341-6378. All proceeds from the production go to fund theater and music scholarships.

Choral showcase

The ESU Department of Music presents the Choral Showcase Concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church. General admission is $5; students and senior citizens, $4. Information: 341-5431.

Concert in Gridley

The acoustic duo, “Sweet Wednesday,” will perform at 7 p.m. Nov. 3 at the Gridley Community Building in Gridley. Award winning singers and songwriters Dave Falk and Lisa Housman make up the duo, delivering tales that are melodic, comic and touching, with acoustic guitar, harmonica and astounding harmonies, stated the news release.

Falk and Housman are first place winners of the Great American and the Dallas Songwriting contests. Their latest release is “Wherever You Go” with backup by “roots rock/alt country legends, the Swinging Steaks.” This free concert is sponsored by the Coffey County Library-Gridley branch.
