A $3 donation to the program will purchase a book for future newborns.
Judge accepts IBC plan
KANSAS CITY, MO. — A bankruptcy judge has approved an investment agreement that would provide $600 million in loans and other capital to reorganize Interstate Bakeries Corp.
U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Jerry Venters approved the package Wednesday, paving the way for the Kansas City-based maker of Hostess Twinkies and Wonder Bread to continue attempting to exit more than four years of Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
Under the plan, a group of lenders will loan the company $469 million once it gets out of bankruptcy, while a subsidiary of New York-based investment group Ripplewood Holdings will invest an additional $130 million.
Venters will hold a hear ing Oct. 30 on whether to send the reorganization plan to creditors for their approval.
