Flu shots
The VA Eastern Kansas Health Care System will have free flu shot clinics for enrolled veterans at the Emporia Community Based Outpatient Clinic from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 27 and Nov. 3 and 10. The Colmery-O-Neil VA Medical Center in Topeka will have a walk-in and drive-up flu shot clinic in the north outpatient lobby of Building One from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays through Nov. 8. For more information, call (785) 350-4386.
Give blood in Lebo
The Community Blood Center blood drive will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 29 at Lebo High School in the Blood Vessel. The Community Blood Center is the provider of blood services to local hospitals. According to the news release, “just one donation can help as many as two local hospital patients. CBC must collect at least 580 pints of blood every day to meet the needs of our area.”
Mound Ridge dinner
A covered dish supper will be served at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 24 at the Mound Ridge Community Center. Kathy Tidwell will present a musical program.
