Emporia State swept Fort Hays State on Saturday to remain in first place in the MIAA at 9-1.
The win came one night after the Hornets first loss of the season on Friday at Washburn. The Hornets held the Tigers to a .000 hitting percentage and cruised in all three sets: 25-15, 25-7, 25-18.
ESU loses in Omaha
Emporia State’s soccer team lost 3-0 at Nebraska-Omaha on Saturday.
The Hornets were outshot 24-5 and had only three shots on goal.
ESU goalie Jennifer Stillmock had 11 saves. Amanda Miano had two of the Hornets shots on goal, while Alicia Smith added the other. The Hornets fell to 3-10-1 on the season and 1-8-1 in the MIAA.
