Lyon County commissioners had a short meeting during Thursday’s action session.
Commissioners voted to pay the costs to pave the Lyon County Extension Office’s parking lot. A topographical survey was performed at $4,057.15 and the paving cost was $44,349.95. The county also paid 50 percent of a $25,636.27 paving project at the Lyon County Fairgrounds. The Fair Board will pay the other half of that amount.
In other business:
• Commissioners voted to approve the purchase of two car radios for up to $3,600 for the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office.
• Commissioners voted to authorize the chairman to sign a certificate of appreciation for Joyce Madore and Ida Schierling of the Senior Patrol.
• Approved assistant county engineer Jim Brull attending the AutoCAD 2009 fundamentals five-day course offered by Imaginit Technologies in Schaumburg, Ill., from Dec. 15-19.
F Signed the revised agreement with the East Central Kansas Public Health Coalition, which is an 8-county area Lyon County’s health center belongs to.
