Nursing accreditation
The National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission and the Kansas Board of Nursing will hold a public meeting from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Oct. 29 in room 102 of Cora Miller Hall. The meeting is part of the review process to maintain the national accreditation of the ESU division of nursing.
The commission’s representatives will be at the school Oct. 28-30.
The nursing program has been nationally accredited since 1996 and accredited by the state since 1990.

Pet blessing
First Christian Church will host a Bless the Pets event at 3 p.m. Sunday at the church at 12th Avenue and Market Street. There will be various demostrations, including the K-9 unit here with the Police Department. Veterinarian Floyd Dorsey will speak and the Rev. Bob Colerick will bless the animals.
There will be plenty of hot dogs, goodie bags and free items given away.

Being of the Christian faith myself I can't say that I approve. It sounds more like a Catholic blessing with the holy water to me.
