QUARTERLY MEETING
The quarterly meeting for the Americus Chamber of Commerce will be Tuesday, October 21, 6 p.m., in the Americus United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, 413 Walnut Street. A social will begin at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. Members of the Emporia High School Orchestra, under the direction of Melinda Flohr, will present a program at 7:30 p.m.
The meeting and dinner are open to the public.

CAFE OPENS
The New Breck Cafe, 622 Main Street, opened for business Sunday, October 12.
The hours will be Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. - midnight; Saturday and Sunday, 7 a.m. - midnight.
Daily lunch specials and evening specials will be served as well as a variety of sandwiches and side dishes. Breakfast will be served on Saturday and Sunday. An ice-cream bar for all ages is available.
There are four televisions, especially for sports viewing, photographs of country scenes, schools, barns and flowers by Ken Ferrell, along with a variety of sports equipment decorating the walls.
The cafe is owned and managed by Jena Johnson and Doug Disney. The kitchen manager is Kathy Tatum, who comes with many years of experience.
Eleven full and part-time employees from the area have been hired to complete the staff.
Watch for a grand opening soon.
